The future event will focuse its attention on comic books design. During the past nine ten years a rapid involvement of television, film and gaming industries has made it apparent to comic artists that they have to push their creativity in order to grow with these competitive industries. The once pen-and-paper artists are now combining various styles and designs with new technologies in order to add further depth to characters and story lines.
At the forefront of this evolution is comic legend Paul Pope, famous for his works that combine the Japanese style of Manga with a European flair. Pope will be one of twelve artists and designers who will speak about their work, ideas, and experiences as part of Semi-Permanent.
Other speakers joining Paul Pope include special effects gurus from The Orphanage, famous for participating in creating titans of the film indsutry Sin City, Day After Tomorrow, and the highly anticipated Superman Returns and Aeon Flux, 19-year-old graphic design genius Chuck Anderson, photographer Charlie White, and others.
